Zach Gospe on Drums, age 8

Zach Gospe is an 18-year-old singer/songwriter based in the San Francisco Bay Area. His 6 song EP, New Horizons, features a blend of upbeat jamming songs and heartfelt ballads that showcase Zach’s poetic stories and distinct, compelling vocals. Zach’s unique style is influenced by great artists such as Jason Mraz, Passenger, Norah Jones, and John Mayer.

Zach’s musical journey began with him learning the piano at the age of 5.  From there he studied the drums and bass guitar.  At the age of 12, Zach discovered and fell in love with the acoustic guitar and soon began writing songs.

Zach’s first public performance of his original songs was in front of his high school class in 2011. After receiving a positive response from his classmates, Zach began performing at social gatherings, open mic nights, school assemblies and private house concerts.

In April of 2013, Zach released his first EP titled Live at Midnight, which was recorded late at night inside an old wood cabin with producer David Jacobs-Strain.  Live at Midnight was a hit among Zach’s fan base and its enthusiastic reception inspired him to write and record a professional studio EP.

At the annual West Coast Songwriters Conference in September of 2013, Zach and his manager, Riley Soward, met established A&R executive and producer Mark Mazzetti, of Record Company in a Box.  Inspired by Zach’s Live at Midnight EP, Mark suggested recording an album with Zach in L.A. To make the dream happen, Zach and Riley launched a Kickstarter campaign and raised $10,600 on Kickstarter to fund the project.

In February of 2014, Zach traveled to Through the Air Studios in Hollywood, CA to record a six song EP, titled New Horizons, with his producer Mark and sound engineer Anthony Brodeur. New Horizons, mixed and mastered by the legendary Brian Scheuble, features “Don’t Fall in Love with Me,” “Isabelle,” and “Whatever Happens,” which was nominated for Best Pop Song by the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. The EP also won a bronze award for pop from the Global Music Awards.
